Endemic

Now that the elections are over, gas prices are rising and the news has gone back to its usual standbys of rape, murder, and pop culture. I never did care much about Brittany Spears, but I have been trying to do some generic research on the subject of sexual assault. So far, the Internet hasn't been very useful. A lot of what I've found could have been cribbed from Law & Order: SVU.

It's an intensely frustrating subject.

And it's frustrating beyond the fact that it's a profoundly uncomfortable and individualistic phenomenon. It's slippery, like gender studies or psychology. How do you separate out the good work from the diatribe? There are entire schools of thought on this issue that are likely, completely irrelevant. Who even knows where to begin?
